Donate an Object
Historic Crab Orchard Museum collects items relating to the cultural heritage of Appalachia and Southwest Virginia. Once accepted, donated objects become part of the museum's permanent collection and may be included in exhibitions, educational programs, and for research purposes. The museum does not provide object appraisals.
Due to extremely limited space, the museum is unable to accept all objects offered for donation. Items are evaluated on a variety of factors, including the object's history and relevance to the museum's mission, the object's physical condition, rarity of the object, and the number of similar items already in the collection.
Please do not send or bring materials to the museum without prior communication with museum staff.
Under current space limitations, the museum is not able to accept donations at this time. However, if you would like to make a donation at a later date, we would be happy to receive an object description and contact information so that we may be in touch with you when our circumstances allow.
To begin the process of donating an object to Historic Crab Orchard Museum, please fill out a donation inquiry form by clicking the button below. Museum staff will review the information provided and contact you regarding your donation.
